Mission Statement

            The mission of Thurman G. Smith Elementary School staff, parents,
        community and children is to work together as partners to provide a safe
        and nurturing child-centered learning environment where every students is
        respected and successful. All students will acquire the academic skills and
        confidence necessary to become life-long learners and contributing members
        of society in an ever-changing world.
